Hiking in the Mt.Tarumae

I went hiking in the  Mt.Tarumae with my wife and son on Sunday, May 29th,2016.
Do you know Mt. Tarumae?    It is located the west-side of  Chitose Airport in Hokkaido.

You can see a good view of Lake Shikotsu on  the way to the top.
And you will also fell  that Hokkaido has a great nature.
It takes less than one hour from the Airport to the entrance of Mt. Tarumae by car.
It is almost no town  in the  west-side of the Airport except some hotels or shops
in  Lake Shikotsu.
Why don’t you check the google map?

If you don’t have enough time to see the nature in Hokkaido,
I suggest that you should go to  Mt. Tarumae by car.
There is no public transportation to the entrance.

It takes about one hour from the entrance to the top in popular route.
We used the another route that is not popular.
There are some pictures below.
I hope that  you will enjoy a good hiking.

Cycling in Sorachi

I love outdoor sports. Cycling is one of them.
“Spring has come” means for me that I should do the  outdoor sports.

I decided to go cycling on Saturday, May 21,2016.
Because according to the weather forecast,  it would be a nice day on Sunday.
It really was a very nice day. No clouds at all.
So I had to put the sunblock cream on my face, neck, hands and legs before starting.
This is my bicycle. This type is called ”Randonneur”  in Japan.  It originally comes from French.
It may be called “touring bike” in English, I am not sure.

I was very impressed .
There were great differences between cherry-blossoms on May 2nd and May 6th.

The cherry-blossoms makes me feel good.
We can feel temperature and coldness of wind,
but We can’t see all of them.

How about blossoms?   Of course, we can.
Seeing is believing.
So I said again that spring has just come in Sapporo.

The spices reminded me of  my trip to Delhi in India this year.
I have been to India only once.
According to the web site, the owner and chef  is an Indian Muslim.

The restaurant  has eight seats.
There were seven people, our family(four people), two Japanese man and one foreigner.
Two Japanese man ordered  two chicken curry, one foreigner did a large size of biryani.

How about the taste?
Good. but a little bit hot for me.
My older son sweated in his face.
We ordered medium hot,  so next time I will do the regular hot.

I sometimes feel heavy in my stomach and thirsty  after eating out.
I did not have such a  feeling  and was not thirsty after lunch.

Biryani is only available on Sunday,Tuesday and Thursday.
And you can buy some halal food there.
Please have a look at the below.

Halal Miso Ramen in Sapporo

P_20160402_134738_LL      P_20160402_140651_LL

I had a halal miso ramen  on Saturday, April 2nd  in Sapporo, Japan.
The name of the restaurant  is Horyu.
Sapporo is famous for miso ramen.

It tasted good.
It was same as ordinary miso ramen I have had before.
I go out to have a ramen only  once or twice a year.
I have a instant noodle at home once or twice a month.
It means that I am not an expert at ramen.

I talked to the chef.
No pork,  No alcohol. This ramen was pretty good.
He said that I had a difficult time to make a good soup and taste without them.
But finally he made it.

There are three types of halal miso ramen.
I asked the waiter that which one you recommend?
“Genghis Khan miso ramen” he said.
So I ordered it.

P_20160402_135019_LL          P_20160402_135029_LL           P_20160402_135038_LL

Genghis Khan is lamb meat with special source.
Fried Genghis Khan tasted a little bit strong for me.
I like weaker one.
The soup and noodles tasted good.
I wanted to have all of soup, but I stopped,
because of the health point. I did not want to get too much salt.

P_20160402_141751_LL

Compared with other countries, Most of Japanese tends to get a lot of salt.
That causes hypertension, as you know.

This is my first blog about Japan in English.
